About the watch
In 1946, Omega first adopted the caliber 27 CHRO C12 for a series of chronographs with three counters and cases in steel or gold. In 1957, Omega introduced its first Speedmaster, equipped with the caliber 321, also known as the "Broad Arrow." This model, designed for races and competitions, was the precursor to what we now call the "Pre-Moon." In 1965, the reference ST105.003 officially became NASA's watch. In 1969, during the historic moon landing, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong wore the true "Moonwatch," the reference ST105.012, equipped with the caliber 321. In 1966, with the reference ST105.012, the word "Professional" appeared on the dial, highlighting the importance of this watch in the scientific and technological fields. In 1968, Omega began producing the caliber 861, marking the gradual phase-out of the 321.
