About the watch

Founded in 1833 in the Vallée de Joux, Jaeger-LeCoultre is synonymous with watchmaking excellence, with a long tradition of innovation and craftsmanship. With over 1,200 patented movements and icons such as the Reverso and the Atmos, the “Grande Maison” has been a pillar in the evolution of mechanical watchmaking.

The Grand Réveil, launched in 1989, represents one of the most significant moments in its history. Created to celebrate the return to mechanical complexity after the quartz crisis, this model combines two of JLC's most emblematic complications: the Memovox function and the perpetual calendar. With the Grand Réveil, Jaeger-LeCoultre reaffirmed its position as one of the greatest masters of watchmaking, combining technical innovation, bold design and unparalleled attention to detail.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Grand Réveil Memovox Perpetual Calendar, launched in 1989, is a tribute to the excellence of mechanical watchmaking and high-end craftsmanship, marking the triumphant return of the “Grande Maison” after the quartz crisis. This extraordinary 18kt yellow gold timepiece boasts a diameter of 41mm and a thickness of 14.7mm, dimensions that make it surprisingly comfortable to wear even on smaller wrists. The dial enchants with a refined combination of colors, including red, white, gold and shiny blue, enhanced by applied yellow gold indexes and skeleton hands that ensure impeccable readability of the subdials. Its fine complications include the Memovox Alarm system, which uses a suspended bronze gong to emit a clear and powerful sound, and the perpetual calendar, precisely designed to be valid until the year 2100 and optimized for intuitive setting thanks to the JLC-patented system. The Calibre 919 automatic movement offers a 45-hour power reserve and is enhanced by a 22kt gold rotor. The large-scale alligator leather strap, with a polished finish, perfectly matches the yellow gold pin buckle, lending a touch of timeless refinement. This watch is an icon of the 80s, combining a bold design with unique craftsmanship, as demonstrated by the separately crafted lugs soldered to the case. A rare and prestigious piece, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts looking for an exceptional timepiece with a significant history and an unmistakable aesthetic.
