About the watch

Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the world’s oldest watch manufacturers, with an unbroken history of creating timepieces. Few international luxury brands can claim comparable prestige, and for good reason. The company’s unwavering commitment to watchmaking excellence is undisputed, and its tradition of design innovation is unmatched. Today, Patek Philippe still leads the industry, and even its fiercest competitors have the utmost respect for the brand.

From the simple elegance of the Calatrava line, to the stunning study in miniaturization represented by the Reference 1518 perpetual calendar, to the modern Reference 5750P chiming watch, Patek Philippe’s catalog is filled with some of the most elegant and complex timepieces ever created. As a completely independent, family-owned company, Patek Philippe has the freedom to make decisions without compromise, as demonstrated by the bold decision to discontinue one of the world’s most beloved luxury stainless steel sports watches: the Reference 5711.

For many, owning a Patek Philippe represents the pinnacle of watch collecting, and for some, the brand’s watches are the only ones worth collecting. Whatever your perspective, there’s no denying the elegance of the design, the superb build quality of the cases and movements, or the sheer thrill of owning one.

Know your watch

Inspired by the principles of Bauhaus, with its minimalist aesthetic and focus on functionality, Patek Philippe created the Calatrava, naming it after the ancient Spanish military order of the 12th century that has become the emblem of the maison. Since its debut in 1932, the Calatrava has become the symbol par excellence of the elegant and essential watch, a point of reference for other brands as well.

This stunning Calatrava 5196G features a 37mm white gold case with sapphire crystal, signed crown, snap-on case back and polished bezel. The dial is an elegant satin silver with white gold obelisk indexes, matching dauphine hands and a seconds counter at 6 o’clock, enhanced by black painted indexes and a white gold leaf hand.

Powered by the manually wound Patek Philippe caliber 215 PS, the Calatrava is completed by a black alligator strap with a white gold pin buckle, making it the ultimate dress watch.

The watch is in perfect condition, having never been worn and comes with its complete set.
