In 2018, Tudor expanded its line of dive watches with the introduction of the Black Bay GMT, a model capable of displaying multiple time zones simultaneously. The Geneva-based manufacturer took inspiration for its design from the famous GMT-Master produced by its parent company Rolex.
A clear example of this inspiration is the color scheme, which faithfully reflects that of the famous Rolex: the bidirectional rotatable 24-hour bezel is split in half between blue and red, forming a color combination commonly known among watch enthusiasts as "Pepsi". The dial, available in matte black or opaline, houses the date window at 3 o'clock, while the indexes are represented by sticks at 6 and 9 o'clock, and a downward-facing triangle at 12 o'clock, with the rest of the hours indicated by luminescent dots.
The Black Bay GMT, however, goes beyond imitating the GMT-Master, boasting all the features that made the Black Bay series popular. These include a 41 mm stainless steel case, an oversized crown, and a domed sapphire crystal without a date lens. The main visual difference lies in the snowflake-shaped hands. In addition, the Black Bay GMT offers water resistance to 200 meters (20 bar), while its Rolex counterpart stops at 100 meters (10 bar).
At the heart of the Black Bay GMT beats the in-house caliber MT5652, which together with the bezel is capable of displaying up to three time zones simultaneously. The watch offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve and holds the prestigious chronometer certificate awarded by the COSC, the official Swiss chronometer certification body.
The Black Bay GMT features a41mm stainless steel casesatin finish on the front and back. The sides are polished, a detail that gives the watch a touch of elegance. The bezel is also in stainless steel, while thecharacteristic blue and red discwith 24-hour graduated scale is made of anodized aluminum.
The watch is in excellent condition and comes with original box and papers.
